2025 Wrap Up - Community Update
New PortCos, Select Portfolio News, Onward
Dear Friends of Avalanche,
I hope this finds you well - and is the last substantive email you receive in 2025!
This year has been an incredible in terms of growth and partnership for us, and we are grateful for all our founders, limited partners, and co-investors.
We’ve continued our focus on companies that are taking advantage of an 'avalanche’ (massive market inflection point) and founders building their life’s work. This is our formula. We want nothing less than to change the world with our founders and help them leave a mark on the world.
In 2025, we added 10 new companies in our core fund, and 8+ existing companies across funds received follow-on financings at higher valuations. Even more companies dramatically improved with more capital efficient operational performance.
We also opportunistically explored new avalanches and offered investments to new partners via SPVs.
There’s always more to say and share but in the meantime, thank you, as always, for being a partner, supporter, and friend.
Katelyn

Workback provides ands-off accessibility compliance for your product.
Accessibility has different phases: auditing, remediation, certification. Each stage has different vendors and is mostly manual. Coordinating between consultancies takes quarters. That slog makes it nearly impossible for champions to move the needle.
We believe that lowering the barrier empowers these champions to drive change. With Workback.ai, teams can go from audit to certification in weeks instead of quarters.
Increased efficacious edutainment

SPV: Avalanche of Nuclear & Aalo Atomics
Earlier this year, our team shared our perspective on the power needs for the AI revolution. As we wrote in The AI Revolution Needs Nuclear Power Now, a persistent worldwide power shortage is the most significant impediment to the growth of the global data center market. Power sourcing remains a top priority for operators in all regions. The limited power grid has created opportunities for new technology and alternative power sources like fuel cells or on-site generation systems to help ease the market’s supply shortage.
We believe that nuclear is the obvious solution for the future and were excited to make an investment in Aalo Atomics, a fast-moving company making modular nuclear reactors for data centers, with our partner Hypernova Capital.
In 2025, Aalo:
✅ Launched a pilot manufacturing factory in Austin, Texas
✅ Were selected for the DOE Reactor Pilot Program to achieve criticality by July 4, 2026
✅ Completed major DOE milestones for the Pilot Program (OTA, NSDA, CDR, PDR, PDSA)
✅ Pivoted fuel to UO2 fuel and secured commercial Uranium for Aalo-X
✅ Revealed commercial product, The Aalo Pod, to power data centers (and beyond)
✅ Built the modules for Aalo-0, our full-scale, non-nuclear reactor prototype
✅ Began construction on Aalo-X and the Critical Assembly Facility (CAF) at Idaho National Lab (INL)
✅ Brought together with >100 partners and suppliers at Aaloverse to show real factory output
✅ Closed a $100M Series B, bringing total capital raised to $136M
✅ Scaled the team by 5X, while holding ourselves to a high bar for rigor and ownership

Busy 2025! Codédex would be incredibly useful if it had a Rust course/crypto supported coding courses (that may be in the future, but moat if done well)
Sava could possibly collab with Molly O'Shea @MollySOShea for a podcast and get immediate reach early, and TBPN is always in search of content.
Something interesting: X links do not appear to convert to Substack subs/other subs, but Articles are converting to followers after Nikita's recent algo change.
Maybe Avalanche/DS on X Articles/crosspost? The author, here, is doing that https://www.systematiclongshort.com/
For virality it appears you need a "base" of immediate engagement and it rockets from there.
